NARA SHAHBAZYAN
CELLIST & ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Dr. Nara Shahbazyan has performed and recorded extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. She has served as a member of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony, New Bedford Symphony, the Cape Symphony, and the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestras, and she is the Associate Director and cellist of ENSEMBLE / PARALLAX. She has also performed alongside many classical and popular artists such as Yefim Bronfman, Andrea Bocelli, Augustine Hadelich, Rachel Barton Pine, 2Cellos, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman, Il Divo, and Evanescence, The Disturbed, amongst many others.
She has been a cello professor and the Director of the String Ensemble at Stonehill College and a music history and theory professor at Dean College. Moreover, she teaches cello, piano, and chamber music at the Rhode Island Philharmonic School and as well as at her private studio in Los Angeles where she offers cello, piano, and chamber music lessons at all levels in-person and online.
She has participated in numerous music festivals such as the Salzburg Summer Music Chamber Institute, the Bach 2000 Festival, the Seville Opera Festival, the Babylon International Festival, the New York City InCite Festival, the Echternach Orchestra Festival, and Tufts University’s Festival of Contemporary Music.
Dr. Shahbazyan received her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in cello performance from Boston University.
